For most in the United States, vaccinations have become a way of life. A vaccine battle is now in evidence in the Nashville, Tennessee school system. As far as school vaccinations for Nashville’s children, there is now no grace period where the school system is concerned. The school system is sending children home without apology. That hasn’t changed the attitudes of parents and kids. Record numbers don’t want anything to do with vaccines, increasingly resistant to the bad press that vaccines are getting across the board, mostly through alternative media. A record number of Metro school students did not get their shots in time for the first day of school. For the first time ever, the Metro Health Department had to continue its last-minute immunization clinic into the third week of school. In fact, because of record poor turnouts at the Fast Track Vaccination Clinic, the system has grown ugly, threatening parents with legal action.
According to the mainstream, one of the problems is that record numbers of vaccinations are now required for school children and many parents are unaware of being in compliance with new rules. Strangely, language may be a barrier as well. At some Nashville schools, 22 different languages are spoken, which is diluting the message that the system wants to present to parents. School officials feign a complete lack of understanding for this behavior on the part of parents. However, the truth may run much deeper as parents resist the urges of the local government and the local school system to immunize. Certainly, this resistance is not limited to Nashville as the dangers and contaminants in vaccinations are increasingly revealed in a system that promotes them as the only answer for good health. Even free vaccinations haven’t lured record numbers of non-compliant parents and children. Instead, they have chosen so far to stay away in droves. After three weeks of non-compliance, officials have officially announced their frustration. In response to the lack of response by parents, they have featured a special extension of the vaccination clinic. Could this be the beginning of a new movement resisting the common wisdom of the mainstream media and government health teaching?
Note: as of 9/5, authorities would have you believe that resistance to vaccines is now waning. (Reuters)
